Squirrel Call Kits & Bellows
Both the Large and Small Bellows fit a 5/8" tennon and have a small 1/16" ridge on the inside. You should cut a small groove on your tennon for this ridge to sit in. We reccomend that you also glue the bellows on by applying some Goop, either Plumbers or Marine to the groove.
Both kits come with LVDR 005 Mylar and Stainless Steel Double Reeds. These reeds must be "bladed" to produce the sound you are looking for. Blading is simply sticking a razor blade under the stainless reed and bending it up a little at a time. Go slow as you can always add more, but it is almost impossable to take it back down if you go to far. An LV 002 reed will also work in these calls, but we prefer the LVDR 005.
Both kits also have a bushing to seat the reed in, and the bushing fits a 1/2" bore. You have the option of placing the reed in the barrel so that air is forced over it from the bellows when the bellows are depressed or drawn over it when the bellows are released.
We stock individual bellows for call makers who have their own reeds, and they also work very well with coaxer reeds for predator calls.
