Crow, Owl, Hawk & Woodpecker Kits
Crow Call Guts are a MT 2 Taper. You can use a tapered reamer availabe at McMaster Carr or ENCO or you can start with a 5/8" Bore and spindle sand them out to fit. You can also turn them down using the Latta Method to use an "O" ring fit.
Owl and Woodpecker Reed Kits go together exactly the same way as a Deer Grunt Call Kit. You just replace the Owl or Woodpecker guts for the Deer guts.
The only difference is that the exhaust of both kits needs to be restricted. We use a wood dowl or turned piece of contrasting color wood drilled to 1/4 or 3/16ths about 3/4" long and glue it in the end of the barrel. It makes for a very unique looking call.
The Woodpecker reed kits make a very effective Yellow Hammer Woodpecker Distress for predator calling when made this way.
